I recently bought a 1999 F350 with a 5.4L.
The heater core has been bypassed. I like to have heat, mainly to defog my windows. But there are some cold days here in Florida too.
Seems pretty easy to change the heater core.
My problem is, I can't find where the hoses will go from the heater core.
Thanks for any help.
I do not have a 5.4, but it seems there should be two narrow ( 3/4" ) or so heater hoses down by the water pump, lower radiator area,, thermostat housing, etc.
Look at another truck with 5.4
Possiblty one for sale, just go be a lookie loo.
Search you tube for bypassing heater core 1999 f 250 5.4, etc.

Thanks for your reply! I have done some searching online, youtube etc., Just can't seem to find anything that shows it. I've tried to find bypass videos. 90% of the video's are just showing you how to remove the hose clips. Can't seem to find any video/pictures showing where they go.
By the description of the hoses, one goes from heater to pipe 1. I don't know where pipe 1 is lol
The other is heater to intake manifold. I see where that one is. I reckon if I follow that hose, it will show me where the other end goes. I just can't seem to follow it before removing it. It goes behind the engine along the firewall.
The engine in this truck was replaced with a new crate engine. It must've been bypassed at install
Thanks again
I put a flow restrictor in my 85 Mustang GT when I rebuilt it...the part was no longer available but I found out through a foxbody forum that a 10mm socket works...
