7.3 died while driving. NEED ADVICE!!

Long story short, I was driving the truck and it sputtered out like it was out of fuel. I have e-fuel with a working gauge and its not a fuel issue. So far I've chased it to an oil issue. Ran down the diag chart i found for 7.3 no starts. Replaced IPR with a used but working one. Have an adrenaline T500 HPOP which I know is still working. Replaced LPOP. Ran down all the oil check valves except the de-aeration valve.

What I have found is I can manually fill the HPOP reservoir, crank the truck and it starts and idles fantastic until it drains the oil below where the HPOP sits. Reservoir never gets completely empty but not enough oil to keep pumping the injectors. When I crank the truck over and get it to run the dummy oil guage on the dash never moves. The only thing I have found or even read about where sonething similar happened, the de aeration valve in the front timing cover fell out into the pan. Does someone smarter than I believe that this could also be what I'm having or before I go and pull the motor does anyone have any other suggestions to try? Really stuck here and looking for some help. Any responses would be greatly appreciated!

I assume you checked the oil level, but gotta ask because it has happened. From what I know, if the ball falls out of the de-aeration valve it'll sit in the upper slot behind the LPOP rotor. Pulling the LPOP isn't too much work and it'll let you see if it's there and verify that nothing happened to it to cause it to stop working, tho I doubt it could. If that's the problem I think the front cover has to come off to fix it.

Truck has plenty of brand new fresh oil. Its overfull actually from filling the reservoir to get it to run to check it after I did something. When i pulled my LPOP cover i didnt see a check ball back in those slots but maybe i wasnt paying close enough attention to those slots. Pulling it off is pretty easy so I'll pull it again to check but my guess is that's my issue.

Now if I can't find said ball bearing anywhere is that replaceable at all or is the only way to replace it is to replace the whole front timing cover?

There is a check valve in the hpop that bypasses the oil if I remember correctly.

So, I'd not assume your "hpop" is good.

Hpop works fine. I can fill the reservoir and it will run till it runs the oil out of the rez and then stalls and dies. Its not refilling the reservoir from the low pressure side

Fresh oil change? Did it run right before change? If so check the check valves in the filter head.

No. It died while i was driving it one day. So i changed the oil, swapped out the IPR with a used but working one from my old truck. Plugged in a different IDM. Still no start. Replaced the LPOP. Still no start. Thats when i pulled the filter head and oil cooler to check the valves and while in there replaced the orings. Valves are in place with a snap ring. Both have good spring tension, come right back up when pushed on and move freely. Put everything back together. Still no start unless i fill the reservoir with oil. Runs when i fill it but does after 10ish or so seconds. So im basically to the point where the motors gotta come out but was seeing if there were other things i should check before i have to pull it.
