93' 7.3 idi engine tick help
hey.. im new to this forum.. i just invested in a project truck.. its a 1993 f-350 xl 7.3 diesel idi.was driving it and it started to tick. so i brought it home and a frind of mine checked the oil and is full.. so he took the valve cover off and poured some oil over the valves while the engine was running and the tick dissapeared.. so now hes stumped and diesels are kinda new to me...he think the oil pump is bad..ANY INSIGHT ON THIS MATTER WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED... THANK YOU

How many miles on it? Has it been worked hard (I would guess so. Tough to find a diesel that hasn't been)

hey. ok.. ill look into the gauge.. thankz.. and about the VC it doesnt spew oil.. and the truck has close to 200,000 miles not sure its sitting at a friends house.. thanks for the idea.. im looking into them now..
