My truck is a 2015 SuperDuty F250 Diesel Is there a cost to update maps?. What about Sync and navigation or is maps update a part of navigation?
I am trying to learn how to go about updating things that should be updated.
thanks
The maps are on a SD card that is purchased yearly (if you want the most recent maps) and they are used by the Navigation system. They can be purchased through Amazon or even on eBay.
You can download the latest software off the Ford site, them go on ebay and buy the newest SD card for maps, I have version A11 that I picked-up for $49. I'll tell you right now they update the POE way than the maps.
When you download the newest software don't follow the instructions and try to unzip it just plug it into the trucks USB port and let it do it's install, there should be 3 files and be sure to use a clean formatted USB drive.

Should I upload the latest software before installing Maps?
I would but I will warn you that the new software didn't play nice with the old map version. After the latest maps it worked better than before with fewer lockups that required hard boots by pulling the fuse.
I bought an A12 from Amazon $27.70 should be here tomorrow Friday. I had the dealer do my oil change yesterday. I asked about updating Sync. The employee checked on it and said it updated automatically. We will see.

I may be wrong but Sync 2 doesn't update automatically like 3 will it has to be installed off a USB drive.

There is a bunch of new young employees up there and a lot female. One person I asked female, said I don't know I am new here. Ask the other one.
Last year I went to the dealer service and asked the service manager a question about my truck. He said I don't know I am new here. I thought to myself, "Oh Brother!"
I think now my best bet is to come here or youtube.
So the next question I have is, does Sync 2 have GPS?
Reason I am asking as I watched a youtube video where a sync 2 was replaced by a sync 3 and the a GPS module came with the kit to be installed.
That got me to thinking if my sync 2 has a GPS installed in it.
I thought it does but now I'm second guessing.

Yes it has GPS, with the Sync 3 conversion you install a new antenna under the dash. I've looked at the upgrade and if I have anymore problems with our 2 it will be gone, getting tired of pulling the fuse to hard boot it.
