Hello!
I have a Ford F150 4.9 1995. The truck runs normal but when I accelerate the engine light comes on. What could be the reason?
I already check all vacumm lines and found one broke, fix it but didnot solve the problem.Any suggestions?
Thanks
This is usually related to your MAP sensor near your HVAC unit. It has a rubber hose running to it. Check the hose to ensure it's not cracked, broken, or disconnected.
First, just start checking and changing parts until it's fixed. People will give you all sorts of suggestions on what to fix or replace. Do them all, it's only money.
Second, read the codes and then you'll know why the light is coming on. Then you can fix only what's wrong instead of chasing a bunch of wrong guesses. Here is how to read the codes. www.troublecodes.net/ford
When the light comes on while driving , and then goes out, like when you let off the gas, that is likely the system telling you that something is happening at that moment. Read the codes, as the others have stated, and see what code was set when the light was coming on. Mine does something similar and it seems to be related to a misfire as I'm only running on seven cylinders, but I forget what codes I retrieved. There are people here who can tell you what the codes reference, so post the results of your code reading.

Please take a photo of your engine compartment.
Thanks for your suggestion. I will check the hose.As soon as I have time, I will send you a picture. Thanks again
