So I update dated my ford 350 2012 100k+ plus motor to a newer to a nice (More option) 2022 f350. Just got the new truck yesterday. it has the 360 camera views. The problem is when in reverse backing up in to shaded area (Tree, shop or shade from the truck) with the sun hitting the front of the truck. I am unable to see hitch in the shade. The shade is complete black no contrast. I think ford dropped some quality on the camera . Do you know a fix? Can I upgrade the rear camera without destroying the 360 view? Right now it helps to put black tape over the front camera. The light balance on the camera is horrible. Am I the only one that has this issue?
Is this with just the rear camera selected, not the surround cameras?
Not sure I understand what taping over the front camera has to do with the rear view of the hitch???
Have you hit the close-up button when viewing the rear camera?
I don’t have the 360 cameras, but I have used the reverse camera a lot… whether hooking up to my camper or just backing up/out. Never had issues with not being able to see. Also, I have the 8” screen in mine, and the image is clear. No 12” screen for me!
It's common for the 22s with the big screen and the 360 cameras. Mine does it. I cant even use it to back into a cover parking space at work as you cant see anything in it. I think its trying to balance the light between itself and all the other cameras and just cant handle it. The resolution is terrible on these, but its the ability to handle dark out back and light up front that I think is killing it.
