I have got a new laptop, the old one blew its battery off. I have installed Forscan on the new computer, but I am afraid that I’m losing all the backups and the saved settings on the old one, and if I connect it to the truck it will kind of start from scratch the way it is right now, with the modifications I already made, without any possibility to go back to the original status. Does anyone know which folders I need to copy over from the old laptop in order to “migrate” the installation?
Copy the folder where you saved your original configurations. You did save your original configurations before making changes; right?
Yes I did. But I was wondering how it actually works since when you open Forscan and connect it with the truck it kind of recognizes it automatically (it asks you something on the tune of “is this this truck?”), and that could mean that it saves some configuration by itself…
Before making any changes, I saved them manually to my PC and to an external hard drive. If I have to go back to the original configurations I will just look at the back ups and make the changes. I don't think there is any "automatic" back-up or restore, if that is what you are asking.

I believe you are referring to the profile. I recommend you do not use or save profile that way ForScan takes a fresh read of all the modules every time you connect.
