The new computer will have default values in it's memory but there is nothing special to do. Fire it up and drive it.

I think you are confusing a relearn with a refllash. All PCMs have to relearn what the motor needs after the battery has been disconnected for more than 15min, but a reflash isn't needed on a new computer and only OBD2 PCMs can be reflashed anyway so that doesn't apply in this case.

It's also useful to know that you need your sensors to be in tact and functioning in order for it to learn properly...tps, map, o2

Just drive it like you normally do, that's the best and easiest way. It will eventually relearn all it needs to know. Your idle be a little screwy at first but that will clear up.

X2......

As you drive the truck the computer will relearn and adapt. Nothing special you need to do.

Yes the PCM will need to relearn so just drive it normally.. that is really the only thing you can do to help. In this case they are telling you that it may take a few drive cycles for the engine to return to optimum operation as the computer learns the details of the engine's requirements, but unfortunately they didn't quite spell that out with the above statement.
