The leaf springs in my 17 350 were creaking like crazy.
I hunted trying to find replacement spacers.
Ended up at the dealer and they were $26 (CAD) for 1!!
I bought the Ford ones because Amazon said the ones I found don’t fit my truck.
Bought the Amazon ones too just to see, and yes they do fit and they are only $9 for 4 of them.
So if you’re looking, don’t go to Ford.
These Doorman ones fit perfectly.
Dorman 924-070 Leaf Spring Spacer
here’s a pic of the three I took out. I’m just going to replace them all.
I had the same issue on my 16. I replaced them with the Dorman replacements, which were a 2 part, a base and a rubber spacer. They failed within a year, but because the locating tab sheared. I suspected it sheared because the rubber spacer didn’t support or let it slide, like the original. I installed a second set without the rubber and it was fine, lasting longer than the factory pieces.
you may be right…but they sure feel and look the same as the new Ford part.
Like the other comment, maybe it will shear off the pin.
but at $20 for 8 vs $240, I’ll risk it.
I do agree it is cheaper to buy the Dorman part multiple times over and some parts it isnt a big deal because it isnt hard to replace. Things like unit bearings are a pain to replace until you replace the Dorman part 3 times and you get it down to a science. If the spacers are easy to swap out buy 2 full sets for $40 and be $200 ahead still. If they have a warranty make sure ro check them before its expired because you may even be able to get them replaced for free. FoMoCo does think very highly of their parts.
