Hey guys, I'm working on my other side project which is a 1966 F100 w/352 engine & 3 speed M/T. A series of previous owners did many things that I've undone and I'm wrapping up putting a new clutch in after rebuilding the column shift. Once I had the transmission out of the way, it became very obvious that the clutch z-bar was horribly misaligned. I came inside and did some forum searches and thanks to several old ND posts, I confirmed that I (think) I have the correct bracketry. As you can see the clutch equalizer pivot that mounts to the engine block sits way lower than the one that mounts on the frame rail. In the pictures below, the ball pivot sits closer to the lower mounting hole for the bracket which doesn't seem like it makes any sense at all. It doesn't seem like there's a logical way to just flip it around but maybe I'm missing something very obvious. The same set up on my 1965 w/240 has both of these pivots perfectly aligned just FYI.
Well, sometimes you just realize you're an idiot. The cause for my z-bar misalignment is most likely due to the fact that I removed the transmission and the engine is a few inches lower than it normally would be. The problem should be corrected when I reinstall the transmission and get the engine block lined back up.
