You might try eBay, PartsVoice, or RearCounter. You’ll need correct part numbers for that. I doubt Ford dealerships are going to have hardware in stock for our over fifty year old trucks. Why OE? I’d source it wherever I could, not caring whether it is Genuine Ford or not. It’s only hardware.
Do you enjoy your copy of that guide? It's mostly helpful if you have part numbers. Otherwise, most people would probably consider it a waste of coin. Plus, you can find lots of fasteners in the guide that are not available since they don't make everything listed. There are also nuts and bolts for our trucks that are not listed at all. This guide is geared more toward the car line-up but there is some crossover with the trucks. Then the problem with part numbers for the front clip is the drawings have part numbers that are sometimes different than the text manual. How do you know which is right and which one to search for? There's a lot of research involved with this stuff. If only it were as easy as ordering their kits from AMK like I can do for my 1971 Trans Am.
I have bought a lot of hardware from Mr. G's since back in the 1980's. His catalog is PDF and will print out full size. Mr. G's Enterprises - Home Page (mrgusa.com)
One thing about the hardware on these trucks or any car for that matter. The headstamp on the bolts is who made it. Different assembly plants will sometimes have different suppliers. Also, if the fender is supposed to have an 1-5/16 bolt and all they have on hand is 1-3/8 you can bet they didn't stop the line and wait for the right ones.
Stainless hardware looks great, but an 18-8 stainless bolt isn't as strong as a grade 5 steel bolt. Also, if you don't lube the threads on stainless before assembly it has a tendency to gall.
Ain't that the truth. AMK deals with the Mustangs a lot and those guys will come up with each variation if you give 'em enough time. Search on AMK's web site for the popular 378178-S. I count about 7 different head markings and 4 different finishes in just this one part number.
This one here is probably most similar to some of the fender bolts on my three trucks. But, there are lots of choices!
Thats interesting. Is yours a San Jose truck? I had two 65 parts trucks both Michigan Truck, Oct. 64 and my truck May, 65 Mahwah NJ. and they all had these on the fenders. It would be interesting to see what they were using on the Atlanta trucks since Atlanta built trucks and cars on the same line. If they were still building trucks, there in the 60's. Bulk Fasteners Products — AMK Products, Inc.
Since his truck is a 64 it might have still had the fine thread bolts on it.
Mr. Garrison has some kits for 61-62 and 65-66 pickups. How correct they will be for a particular truck. who knows. They will be absolutely correct for whatever truck he crawled in an out of decades ago writing all that down. Mr. G's Enterprises - Screw Kits (mrgusa.com)
