Has anyone installed one of these on a truck in the last year or two? And if you did, where in the world did you install the mount for the new filter, I spent about 30 minutes under my 450, and I can't find a single good spot to mount the head for the bypass filter
If you don't plan to extend your oil change intervals, a bypass filter really doesn't provide any benefits. Having said that the ones that do install these kits typically bolt them on the frame behind the passenger tire.

I'm a belt and suspenders type of guy, and there's no such thing as too much filtration in my mind. These are a different style that relocate the factory filter.
Simply install on the frame behind the passenger tire.
I have ~244k reasons why extra filtration isn't required, but then again, I don't do extended oil change intervals. The problem is if you're running a bypass filter with the intent to get longer OCI's, these filters don't remove the diesel fuel from the oil, which is the main reason I don't do extended OCI's.

Cool, Fantastic, Great for you! I however, am going to install it because I want better soot removal from my oil at whatever OCI I choose to run. Now, once again if anyone with a truck from the same decade as mine has some insight on a location for the head due to the increasing lack of room with each passing model year.
Mounted mine on one of the running board hangers (had to fab a bracket). I have the plastic superduty fillers between the running board and body so the filter is hidden.
Mount to the frame on the passenger side. I installed a Frantz filter on my truck. Soot makes sludge and I want to keep as much of it out of the oil as possible. The OE filter won't remove any soot. Fuel dilution is a real concern on the emissions trucks and will limit OCI.
