Cabin filter ??

Do these trucks have a cabin filter and if so where? Its like there is no filter , i clean the inside and one trip to a jobsite and the whole interior is full of dust. Had this same problem with my Ram and found an actual spot that was made for a filter but factory doesnt install them. I installed one and all was good but man thats so lame that these trucks dont have them. Any info ??

Maybe they forgot to put one in. Check your owners manual under "Interior Air Quality"

My '17 XL had a filter installed. They are behind the glove box with a fairly unhandy proceedure to get to them. Is the '21 that different?

There is a cabin filter. No tools required to change it.

Remove the glove box and then you'll see the access door.

This is a departure from the 15-20 trucks, I didn't know they went tool less on the 21+.

If they made it toolless, good. The two screws weren't so much the problem as the multiple tabs with the extra little white part on them that falls off..... Plastic tabs, good once, twice, maybe thrice....

The worst part was the wood trim removal on higher trims. Very prone to breaking.

When I went to do mine, the first video I saw said to get a trim removal tool.....many times the beginning of a disaster.

You can get the filter out in just a few minutes.

It's really quite easy once you get in there and look.

I do not disagree. It's not that hard. But you have easily broken and easily popped off little parts to deal with.

On the flip side, the engine air cleaners on the '17 F150 and our '18 RDX seem to have been designed by someone with "quick change" on their mind.

100% totally agree with you. The first time I did mine, I apparently didn't get it back together properly and you could see inside the glove box even with it closed. No reason they had to put this filter in a location that required parts of the dash to be removed. Even now the trim doesn't fit as it should.
I thought I read that the 21 has two glove boxes. I guess you get behind the upper one to access the filter. Why not have the access 'panel' on the firewall under the hood?

The access is behind the lower glove box.

Push in on the tabs on the side of the glove box and then it pulls right out. Then you will see the cover for the cabin filter. Push in on 2 or 3 tabs and then it comes off and the filter slides out.
