Ford TPMS for RV

I got the Ford customer placable camera with TPMS with my F450. I have a Momentum 351MS-R 5th wheel RV on which I would like to install the pressure sensors. I thought I was getting the screw-on type, but these sensors replace the valve stems, and the sensor is inside the tire. Has anyone installed these sensors on your RV wheels? Any tips?

Thanks

I have an F350 that I ordered this with and it just arrived but I only looked at the chintzy backup camera Ford sells. My 43ft Solitude came with a fob synced to valve stem caps that makes a god awful noise when the battery is low or the TPMS is going off. I liked the idea of having it integrated with my truck but if I have to dismount my tires to do it I'll pass.
I dont know what the max PSI is for the Ford TPMS but the tires on my 5th wheel are G rated and max 160psi. If it is the typical 125psi max TPMS I would keep the one that came with my 5th wheel and just leave it in my center counsel because I can hear it just fine when it starts to go off.

If they are the Ford sensors do you know what the max PSI rating is?

I put the Ford sensors/camera/yaw sensor on my 40’ Redwood. Had to get the larger valve stems as the standard sensors didn’t fit the bigger valve stem hole in the wheel. I installed them myself, just broke down the bead on one side and used a string to pull them through. Easy.

I had trouble getting the TPMS’s to communicate with the receiver. I ended up adding in about an extra 10’ of wire so I could mount the receiver just ahead of the axles and it works great now. I really like having the trailer tire pressure integrated with the truck. Not sure of the pressure they will read, but it’s above 125psi. I keep 120 in mine cold, and when towing they heat up and show in the 130’s.

these guys helped me and were great support https://nicholsmanufacturingandweldingservices.com

I had Discount Tire install my sensors. No issues there.

When I placed the receiver I made sure to get it as close to the axles as possible, while still locating it in a secure position where it was unlikely to get taken out by road debris. My trailer is a bumper pull toy hauler, so it's not as long as the fifth wheel toy haulers which made it a bit easier for the cord to reach.

On one of my first trips out I watched the dash carefully and noticed that one sensor was about 10 psi above the others. They had all started out the same. The first city I came to with a Discount Tire store, I replaced that tire. The replacement tire produced a PSI that was inline with the other three, so I think I caught a problem before it became a failure.

On another trip I had two tires that needed to be replaced on the road at the same time. One had tread separation and the other was blowing chunks out of the tread. Neither tire registered any different PSI. The only way I knew I had a problem was that I could feel the vibration from the tire with tread separation. Sometimes the TPMS helps you, sometimes it doesn't.

I have not seen a rating. I’m running them at 80 psi

I use them on my toy hauler. Ive been running 110psi and seen it up to 125psi when the temps are hot outdoors or load is heavy.
