I have a 2009 E350 6.0 which I have installed custom wheels and did not use the tire pressure sensors in. Is there a way to turn off the light? Or can I install after market sensors that will be compatible with my computer?
I'm guessing that aftermarket sensors would work fine but you would have to have the dealer or a tire store reprogram the receiver for the new sensors. From what I recall, aftermarket sensors may also need to be programmed for a low pressure trigger value which is gonna be much higher on a 350 than a 150.
I know that a lot of folks who switch to winter wheels/tires go without sensors and fix the light with a piece of black electrical tape. That seems to be the cheapest solution.
