you won't find much near Culver City. You'd have to travel out to the outskirts to get any real diesel service, and even then, they won't have any experience with older classic diesels.

OP, this guy in post 3 ^^^ is offering you better help than you'll get anywhere else. If you can work with the guys here and push your boundaries a bit with wrenching skills, that might be a better way to go than trying to find a mechanic who knows how to work on older diesels.
