So, my new Maverick is doing great, but not so the key. This thing came with a HUGE ignition key and control that's impossible to add on my keychain. It's so big, it's obviously a stand alone item. That means I now have my personal key ring, my work key ring, and a separate clunker key for the Maverick. What moron ever thought up that?!
Anyways, here's the question. Can I take my new key assembly apart, hide the computer side of the key and just use the metal inserted ignition key like any other normal key? Or, does the whole assembly need to be within an inch or so of the ignition slot?
It's common when I go outdoors that I toss an extra key(s) to whomever I'm with in case they get back first, they can get inside or even drive out on their own. Not so this setup.
