Turbo Questions

Hi, I have a 1997 F250 diesel "fireman's truck" that I need on my remote farm like I need my left arm. After running out of fuel [which has happened before, broken fuel gauge], this time after the knocking got better the truck would not go up hill: Even a little hill, with the accelerator pushed to the floor. If anyone has any suggestions/ insights, I'd sure appreciate it. We just changed the fuel filter, and a partially clogged section of fuel line, but that didn't fix it. The truck has 314,500 mi., but little recent mileage due to the pandemic. Is it necessarily the turbo or turbo cartridge? Thanks!

Most likely just need to get the air out of the fuel system . It takes time .

Air in the system works itself out . .Not saying that is the problem here . FP is measured on the return to the tank . Air in that will also give an inaccurate reading .
