I have a 2006 F350 6.0L and was told by the dealership that my turbo is sticking and needs to be replaced. It has been running fine and all of a sudden it will not accelerate and now will not start. It seems like it is starving for fuel. How big is my problem? Should the truck still turn on if the turbo is not working? Could I also have a fuel filter issue?
If and when were the filters last replaced, oil and both fuel filters. Also can you see your FICM voltage? if so what is it.
Any unusual smoke, does your boost guage show anything at all.
If you are unsure of the maintence items I would start there, maybe even pull a fuel sample to see whats in it. Could just be a bad load of fuel.
If it needs filters use only Ford or Racer filters, it makes a difference.
If it turns out that you need a turbo, I just pulled one out of my truck and it was rebuilt under warranty in February, new center section, PM me if interested. Worked flawless, upgraded injectors and turbo was the only reason I replaced it.
The filters were replaced less then 1000 miles ago. I tried it for the 2nd time today and it started up. Maybe it's the fuel. The turbo has been slow to start. Once it's going no problems. It's only when it starts from a stopped position.

So the truck has hard time starting/runing
or
Or is it just a Low Power Problem when taking off from a Stop sign or Traffic light
The starting thing, or lack of, just started happening. The low power problem from the stopped position has been going on for about 3 months and has gradually gotten worse. Just recently it won't accelerate. The truck has been just sitting for the last 2 weeks.
