1990 AOD concerns

Hi,

I cannot go from Park or Reverse into OD. I can go into OD from D, and the OD does seem to be working. I assume this isn't the way it's supposed to work. My linkage down below is on its last legs, but it's still holding together. Would adjusting the TV cable have any effect on this, or does it sound like the tranny needs work?

Hi, sorry I can't answer your question, but I'm wondering if the AOD came standard in a '90 model?

As far as I know, it's stock. The Tranny Spotter's guide in the tech article section of this site lists it as standard as well.

By the way what does your truck do when you shift from park to OD or from reverse to OD? Does it stay in park/reverse, or does it go to neutral?
