2007 F350 SD, 5.4L with AT
In process of installing new engine and have drained power steering and AT fluids during the tear down. Owners manual states that Mercon SP should be used in the AT. I’ve read in a more than a few threads on here that Mercon LV is fine in place of SP.
Manual also advise that Mercon should be used for power steering as well as the transfer case. In the interest of only having one fluid on hand I’m inclined to use LV in the power steering and the transfer case.
Anyone have any strong feelings or info that says I shouldn’t?
