hi,
i have been looking at lifts alot for my 85 4wd, and skyjacker has this 2 inch suspension lift with bigger front coil springs. so i was wondering if i could basically put the new springs on and it's all good or if i have to change some things, if so what?
thanks
The 2" coil springs will alter your camber. You will probably have to add camber bushings to correct the camber. A 2" dropped pitman arm will also help out. There is one for sale on Ebay.
if you only want 2 in go with ford 2 in spring spacers in the front and a set of 2 in blocks in the rear. or think im crazy get some big washers and make the spacer. it goes between the bottom of the spring and the axel. either way you go you will need a front end allignment but that would be it for 2 in of lift
my plan was to get the 2 inch suspension lift from skyjacker, which is the front coil springs, and the rear add a leaf system. then get a 3 inch body lift and run 32 inch tires
that would work fine but as i was saying if you only want 2 in supension the spring spacers are alot cheaper even if you go to ford there like 15 a side fords been useing them for years for the bigger trucks that run plows and need a little lift in the front to compansate then if you want buy the add a leaves in the rear. still the only thing to remember is the front end allignment whether you use skyjacker or the ford spacers. the body lift will have no effect on the supension
i just went to a good allignment shop that has a lifetime warnty on there allignment thell do the shims and camber bushing and if you ever knock it out of wack while off roading thell reallign it for free unless you broke a part
