hey does anyone have any experiance with the rear leaf springs from procomp? i am looking at getting a pair for my 77 f150 4x4 and getting the 4" lift springs. i am buying a kit first to lift it 4inches buy adding blocks to the rear coils in the front, then saving up to buy springs for the rear. so are these good springs? thanks for any info.
oh yea i think the first part of the lift (the front coils and other parts) are going to be from jeffs bronco graveyard. will there be anything wrong with mix matching them?

"if all else fails i could use my ***** as a pogo stick, at least that would be a means of transportation"
Funnest scene in the movie Patch Adams. when the doctor is not listening to him while he is talking about his problems, just seems to fit here sorry if this "offends" anyone.
That was pretty funny!! As for the springs, no help here, was actually wondering the same thing. I want to ditch the blocks on the rear of my truck and the Pro Comp springs seem to cost a lot less than the National Springs. If you do get them, post a reply as to how you like them.
BTW, as for your lift, check 4wheelparts.com. I bought my skyjacker 6" lift from them for $230, however this was just the coil spings and rear blocks, no drop brackets or pitman arm. I was handy enough to modify/make my own using the stock brackets and found a drop pitman arm already on the truck I stole the axle from. The truck actually had 4" lift coil springs with degreed Rancho "c" bushings on it when I got it.
You know thinking of it, you know how many leaves are in your original spring pack and how wide are they? I still have the donor truck that I am stripping out for parts that has 7 (I think, might be 8) leaf spring packs out back. This truck originally had 35's when I picked it up (hence the drop pitman and taller coils). If they match up, I might be willing to make you a deal on a package of 4" coils and the leaf springs. I believe that these are 2.5" wide, not sure though. I'll look tonight and get the full details for you if you are interested. The truck is a 72 F-100 if that helps.
do you know how old the coils are and what brand? i will go look at my truck to see how wide and how many leaves are on it. do you know a good place to buy drop brakets? i was also looking at getting a skyjacker lift kit with fabritech extended radius arm for more travel i want springs out back that will articulate well.
by the way the rear springs i have now articulate well and i have heard some lift kit can be worst. you can see my stock susp. working off road in my gallery to show you what i am talking about.

Not sure how old the coils are, they lok to have been painted and not powder coated, so they have some surface rust. The truck had all fairly new poly bushings everywhere up front (track bar, steering ends, c-bushings, radius arm bushings), but I haven't gotten to the back yet. The Fabritech radius arms are supposed to be nice for better articulation. A company called "Tuff Country" has extended radius arms that use a pivoting axis for better off-road performance, but not sure if they make a set for the 77-79's. the ones I saw are for the 80-96 F-150. Then again, if you have a welder and are pretty handy, you could make a set. I searched E-bay and the web and found a set of Black Diamond radius arm drop brackets for my lift. You wil need to gring out all of the rivits from your stock brackets, bolt the drop brackets in the stock bracket's place then bolt the stock bracket to the drop bracket. I bolted and welded mine as this was a custom thing and I had to drill the mounting holes anyway.
As for the rear springs, again, I know nothing about them other than that they have alot of thin leaves, which from what I understand are prefered for a softer ride and better articulation.
From what the Pro Comp Leaves say, they are the thinner type of leaves, so I believe they will flex well, I know that the National Springs are the thicker stiffer springs, great for hauling, bad for articulation.
I got this truck for $200 from a guy that was going to crush it. It has a bad 390, but everything else (besides the bed and some spots on the cab) is in great shape, even has a newer looking dual exhaust on it. He got it from a tow job that no one ever claimed. It's been sitting for about 3 years and I decided to start parting it out, so if you need any dirvetrain parts let me know and I will make you a deal. Tranny is 4speed w/ granny low.
4" Skyjacker lift kit with drop pitman arm, and fabritech extended radius arms, drop track bar bracket, and new brake lines for the front sound good? anything to add? for the rear i am open to anything you guys think will work good, so throw some ideas!
well I got a chance to look closer at those rear springs, they are 8 leaf spring packs that appear to be 2 1/2" wide they also have the stock looking blocks (look like the ones on my 95 as they have the wings welded on them to keep them from flipping over on the axle). The truck that they are on is a 72 F-100. I stole the front suspension out of it to put under my 95 F-150. I actually looked at them for my 95, but I have the 3" wide springs, so that leaves me out too.
