I got it, but only because when I purchased my truck in February Ford Credit was offering a discount on their APR% if you opted for the Ford ESP. With the discount it was a wash.
Yeah, I agree. Thanks. I was hoping to hear what they (dealers) typically recommend...
Well, if I was a dealer I would recommend PremiumCare+DieselCare+TireCare+Maintenance Plan+VIN etching, to really give you that complete protection and peace of mind 😆.
I got the 8yr/125K Premium plan from whoever was offering the best price at the time.
It was $3000.
Fast forward to two months ago. Took the truck in for service and the shop said I had
a valve cover leak and needed the drop link bushing replaced. The quote for the valve
cover job was $5,000!!!
It only cost me $100 deductible.
then I bought my insurance company mechanical repair break down coverage which includes repairs
but, locally, its hard to get a FORD appt for anything. I fixed a few things out of pocket, new drive shaft, new batteries after only 2 years, etc. Ill probally need a DEF tank since mine always shows full.
if I had it to do over again, I would not buy the ford ESP based on what I know now about difficulty in getting appts.
For diesel owners, Ford has another warranty they offer for the diesel engines. They offer the Diesel Engine Care and the Diesel Engine Care plus. The ESP warranty doesn't cover much related the diesel engine.
I found this out when my previous 2015 F-250 6.7L was having issues. Long story short Ford Corp ended up adding on at no cost to me the Diesel engine Care warranty to the vehicle after numerous issues. The ESP Premium did not cover hardly anything for the Diesel engine.
