I did, so you could say I would.

Which plan and term will vary based on a few variables. What trim level and options do you have, how long do you plan to keep the truck, how many miles per year do you expect to drive it...

I went with a Premium Protect plan and added the lighting coverage since my truck has the led light option. I typically keep my vehicles for a long time, so I chose the longest length(8yrs), with a mileage that I don't anticipate exceeding before then. There is no reason to pay for a 100k mile plan if you realistically will only hit 80k in 8 years.

I bought an 8yr/125k Premium Care for my 2019 from Lombard Ford. They're genuine Ford ESP's, and the details are shown in Ford Pass.

https:/www.lombardfordwarrantys.com/

I added keyfob, and LED coverage while I was at it. There's too much tech to mess with in these trucks.

I bought a Premium Care from rhe same folks for my Excursion and it paid for itself at least 3 times over.

I will have my truck in July/August. It’s a Lariat Ultimate with LED Lighting. This my 3rd SD diesel and I keep mine for 10ths, usually 150,000mi.

Did you ever have any issues with the first 2 trucks that made you wish you had an ESP?

If you do decide to buy one, at $50 over cost, these guys probably have the best price you will find. https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...angerford.html

If you have never looked into pricing and options, Flood Ford has an easy to use site that can give a good idea of what you might pay.

For diesel owners, Ford has another warranty they offer for the diesel engines. They offer the Diesel Engine Care and the Diesel Engine Care plus. The ESP warranty doesn't cover much related the diesel engine.

I found this out when my previous 2015 F-250 6.7L was having issues. Long story short Ford Corp ended up adding on at no cost to me the Diesel engine Care warranty to the vehicle after numerous issues. The ESP Premium did not cover hardly anything for the Diesel engine.

True, but to get complete coverage for the rest of the powertrain and electronics would require both warranties, that's a pretty big chunk of $$. The PremiumCare is pretty comprehensive, it kinda seems like the DieselCare might be more geared towards fleet type trucks, low on options but a lot of idle time and/or miles.

I don't see Diesel Care here: https://www.floodfordesp.com/coverage.php which is where I would likely buy my extended factory warranty (or another competitively priced online dealer)

I did 8/100k only because I had a $2500 PCO.

I don't see it on their site but I bet they do sell it. Here is an idea of pricing from Lombard. Ford Extended Warranty - Ford Protect - Diesel Engine Care. (lombardfordwarrantys.com)

www.grangerfordextendedwarranty.com is a great option if you are looking for an ESP. $50 over cost will make that decision a little easier!

Can you comment on the Diesel Care options? What should we be looking for if we buy a 6.7 PSD PremiumCare or Dieselcare? Thanks

I believe the Diesel Care would be in addition to the Premium Care?? But it looks like Premium Care already covers a big chunk of the Diesel Care...

Yeah, I agree. Thanks. I was hoping to hear what they (dealers) typically recommend...

Ziegler was the cheapest yesterday when I compared ESP pricing. I plan on getting one for mine. Probably 8/100.
