About 59,600 miles, going in for oil change #6 tomorrow, so did the 2nd fuel filter change myself this morning.
I'd let the Quick Lane do the fuel filter, but they get like $225 for the filter and R&R, which is outrageous since list on the filter is about $75 and it only takes about 15 minutes to change both filters.
Got my filter set off amazon, oem Motorcraft FD4641 for $59.
Took my time, about 30 minutes, including two hand washes and pics.
Ford really should make those connections on the secondary filter easier to R&R, plus the primary filter/separator on my 2012 that was a spin-on cartridge was easier than the current setup.
Rear tire up on ramp to make it easier to get under the truck...
And, the old filters, you can see some slightly dark areas on the panel filter, it was doing its job...
Manual I downloaded for my 2022 online shows 30K intervals for fuel filter changes.
That would be under normal operating conditions. Do you primarily operate under any of the Special Operating Conditions listed, starting on page 631 of the 2022 manual?

I don't pay much attention to that, I run almost 100% highway, least stressful miles there are.
I do tow a lot, but again almost 100% highway.
30K works for me, and I fully believe it could be extended without issue.

Not sure where I saw 22,500. 30k is in the manual. Odd.
Still doing 15k intervals since I fall under these conditions that say that 15k should be followed:
Sustained High-speed Driving at Gross Vehicle Weight Rating - Maximum Loaded Weight for Vehicle Operation
Towing a Trailer or Using a Car-top Carrier
Frequent or Extended Idling - Over 10 Minutes Per Hour of Normal Driving or Frequent Low-speed Operation if you use your Vehicle for Stationary Operation
Frequent Low-speed Operation, Consistent Heavy Traffic Under 25 mph (40 km/h) or Long Rush-hour Traffic
Operating in Dusty or Sandy Conditions (Such as Unpaved or Dusty Roads)
Using Biodiesel, up to and Including 20% Biodiesel (B20)
This last seems to be the defining one for me. I haven’t seen a pump without biofuel in 23k miles I have driven.
Not judging, your money, your truck. I was just curious why you would skip on this particular maintenance.
