I have a 98 F150 which I purchased from Montana and I live in South Carolina. Its clear that my truck spent most of its life as a work truck and I doubt that the paint was maintained. Because our sun is hotter here in the south, within a year the paint on the roof started turning, which I abruptly addressed by using Meguiars 3 step process (compound, polish and wax). I grew up on this stuff and never had this problem with it. Compound worked fine, but the polish adhered to the hood and I can't get it off.
I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations on how I could get this stuff off. It wasn't easy getting it off the roof when I applied it.
I have great success with Dawn non anti-bacterial dish soap for degreasing just about anything, including me after working in the shop, but if that doesn't do it, PPG wax and grease remover will for sure.
You will have to use rubbing compound or a more aggressive polish to get the baked on polish off
Make sure the cars paint is cool to the touch before you start, and do it in the shade
Good luck
