You haven't got the nut off the stud yet and that start cable from the solenoid up top is the least of your worries
You twist the nut off and break that portion of the stud is what usually happens
You may need to take a wrench to the grinder and make it thinner so you can hold the stud portion while you get serious with the nut
Use all 6 point sockets and wrenches (except the thinwall open end you need
You pot a wet rag around that rubber if you are worried and a real torch puts out so much heat that 3 or 4 seconds are all you need
I would have had that bolt out before you started typing last week (hold your mouth right, strap up your ***** and get it done Pekoe56)
Granted if you are using mapp gas with a big feather flame you will for sure need a water soaked rag in a few places
Manicmechanic0, that wire is the from the battery, a main voltage wire not from the solenoid, hence I didn't want to damage it. To Airborne 82nd, tried tighten that other nut only to have it come loose. I needed the thinner wrench to hold it tight which I did in the end. Anyway the job is done and the truck started right away and runs as it should. All in all 13mm wrenches work, one needs to be thin and a little penetrating fluid doesn't hurt. Thanks again for your help.
