I needed to replace the hose on my rear axle to the height/load sensing valve and figured I would remove it, clean it up and paint it while I was waiting for the hose to arrive.
Unfortunately, I did not notice there was a flat on the shaft part until after I got it out. The bracket attaches to the knurled section of the shaft - so I am not sure how to set the correct initial position of the valve. My Ford Shop manual covers the installation of the unit, but does not mention anything about the orientation of the valve shaft when initially attaching the actuating arm. There is no other key/index on the shaft or arm so my only thought are that the flat must be what is used? Flat up? Flat Front?
From the looks in my manual it is valve assembly 2B547

Another thought - if anyone has one of these and is willing to slide under their truck and take a pic it would be a big help. The flat should be visible between the actuating arm and the unit.
