Good evening guys. Thanks for the add and Ive followed you all for sometime as Im a long time Ford truck owner.
I own a 2014 F350 DRW Lariat with the 6.7. Recently having issues with excessive fan noise while excelerating from a stop. The noise is louder while at highways speeds when I try to exccelerate to pass etc. The AC System is also suffering to stay cold. Is there a connection? Cold Air Box piping?
The last time I heard this noise, was when the Cold Air Box was leaking coolant on the secondary cool8ng system and dumping coolant out of a leaking hose and a leaking Cold Air Box.
All of this was replaced in October.
Now the noise inoback and causing my MPG to suffer.
I'll stand by for any help extended my way. Thanks
I can't help much but I would probably guess that the EOT sensor might be going bad or your clutch on the fan may be going out. Are there any DTC's when you checked?
Just to be sure, you are talking about the engine fan and not the AC / Heater blower motor, correct?
Not identical because this was my '11 6.2 gas but I had excessive engine fan noise and replaced the clutch which fixed the problem. At least on the 6.2 there are reports of the fan clutches eventually exploding (or perhaps they just start to wobble then the fan breaks apart, not sure) and that's shrapnel city -- the collateral damage can be considerable.
If we are talking about your engine fan I'd have it looked at sooner rather than later.
