2003 E350 Chateau 7.3 value?

Hi Forum! I posted here a few years back regarding a 7.3 Chateau I had just purchased. It's been a great van overall and has served its purpose admirably. It has around 124k miles now. I've gotten a lot of positive "man, if you ever want to sell that!" comments at gas stations and everywhere else. It's a pretty awesome machine. We have a 7000lb travel trailer that it's done a great job pulling around for us. Has a DT Tuner (used mostly to stiffen up gears while towing), hitch camera, aftermarket stereo with nav and bluetooth, inverter providing power for the kiddos in back, Michelins all around with lots of meat left. Drivetrain is solid. Interior still looks and cleans up well. I have a pretty extensive list of work I've done to it. Replaced everything my shop inspection told me to when I first bought it, and have kept up with everything they've suggested since. Pretty extensive list that I'd be happy to share.

Issues with it: Cruise stopped working, brake controller has low trailer brake voltage (maybe harness is just corroded?), some rust under the side door panel, steering box is getting close to needing replaced.

Any opinions/ballparks on what a fair price would be to list it? Hopefully I'm not breaking any rules for asking here. Once I get price figured out I'll post it in the marketplace with more pictures and all of the details.

If i were to guess I’d say in the 15k-20k range. If it were a 4x4 it would be in the 25-30k range. Before fuel prices took off I would have said easily 20. But as of right now I’m not sure how confident folks are of diesel. It looks clean to me. It’s considered a low mile vehicle and since it’s a 7.3 it can go 500k miles. The rust you mention is probably surface rust. You should see the rust here in the salt belt.

what kind of mileage do you see towing?

If you're just testing the market I'd do a quick search on eBay Motors seeing what something similar is currently listed and what has actually been sold in the recent past.

Good luck with your sale!

Much appreciated! I was kind of thinking around the 20k range, but didn't know if it was maybe a rarer niche thing and worth more. It towed the camper last weekend, and I averaged around 12 mpg. It finds its happy place at around 65 MPH the freeway and does well. Much slower and it hunts for gears on hills. Was a $175 fill up from near empty though - the price of diesel is definitely stinging.

As far as ebay, I had looked there before I posted, and didn't see any sold listings for a 7.3 chateau.. which is what made me wonder and decide to post. It could have been user error on my part however. I'll poke around there some more.
