Brand new user to the forum here. 1994 e150 van 5.8 with e4od tranny. 112k miles.
I have a 1994 e150 van with the e4od tranny. When selecting "D", it seems as if I only have 4th gear where it starts automatically, which brings slow acceleration and no shifting of course. When manually selecting 1st gear, it seems as if it skips 1st gear and puts me in 2nd gear. 2nd gear gives me 2nd gear. Selecting reverse gives me a clunk and slight jerk.
The selector for OD cancel does not work. It does not illuminate and it just plan doesn't cancel OD either.
I'm getting 2 codes with my tester that I'm certain are unrelated; 18 - idm circuit failure/spout circuit grounded and 52 - power steering pressure sensor malfunction.
any experience with this from any forum users here?
What you are describing is how the transmission operates when there is no electrical power to the transmission shift solenoids.
You almost certainly have a wiring problem. You need to find why there is no power at the transmission connector on the passenger's side of the trans. The two red wires on that connector are +12v. I don't have a diagram to show you which pins those are.
