e4od gear selector handle fell apart?
I have a 1992 E150, 4.9L, E4OD tranny. I currently have 201k miles on her.
The gear selector fell apart in my hands the other day. There are 3 wires that were attached to it. I assume that 1 wire is for the light, located inside the ****. The other 2 wires MIGHT be for the actual eletronic controler/motor for the Overdrive.
By keeping these 3 wire separated and unconnected does that mean the E4OD tranny is in overdrive or NOT overdirve. It does not seem to be hi in the RPM range at 55mph
Also what is overdirve?
Does it mean the tranny is in the biggest gear (best gas mileage/less RPM for the engine) Y/N
Or is the tranny only capable in going into 3rd gear but not 4th gear.
