I was thinking the higher trims could detect movement of the vehicle, like someone climbing up on a running board or bumping into the truck with a car. Maybe not.
Yes it is motion detected. If you shake the truck it will set it off. Could be a cat, wind, etc.
every time I take my excavator off my truck and its locked it sets the alarm off due to motion.

Are you sure about that? The motion part that is. It could just be the inclination change that is setting your alarm off. A cat, wind, even another vehicle backing into the bumper will not set it off.
Try it sometime, rock it, push on it, bump it, I doubt you will make the alarm go off. Change the inclination of the truck, yes it will go off, like the manual says.
somebody else on another thread said that it happened to them, it turned out to be some kind of flying insect like moth or fly that was setting of the inside motion detectors!
That was me unfortunately, on a cross country rode trip with just me and my five year old. Did not get near enough sleep for the drive the next day. That being said, be careful also as I know people trying to steal vehicles or belongings will repeatedly set off an alarm to annoy the owner and get them to turn it off.

I didnt know for sure, I just know with a 16k machine coming off it. Would set it off. I guess thats what it is. I would have to be really strong to shake it to change the inclination.
