On 4 different occasions (that I know of) my alarm has gone off for no apparent reason when it has been in my view. Anyone else experiencing this? I just changed the alarm setting to perimeter only.
Does it have a glass breakage sensor? My '90 Toyota SR5 pickup had a glasd breakage sensor. After taking delivery the alarm kept going off for no apparent reason. We finally determined that the glass breakage sensor was set to be so sensitive that it would pick up twigs from the tree I parked under at home falling on the sunroof. The dealer adjusted the sensitiviy and I never had another false alarm caused by the twigs.

If you're using the full alarm setting, don't leave the windows down or the sunroof open, or even the rear slider open...and don't leave pets or people in the car.
The full alarm setting uses 4 ultrasonic sensors in the roof console to detect movement or changes in pressure to the interior.
There is also a tilt angle sensor which would trigger the alarm if the angle of the truck suddenly changed (like when a tow-truck scoops it up, or someone jacks up the truck to steal the rims...or a violent earthquake happens, lol).
With windows closed and no pets inside there really is no reason. Maybe you need to get dealer to take a look. With windows open you can wave your hand inside and alarm will go off. There is no shock sensor on stock alarms.
