WITH SIDE TRIM OR WITHOUT SIDE TRIM

so the title explains it all.. my 79 has the trim that runs down the sides. and is in very good shape...but i see alot of them without them and i cant decide what i like better... i assume that if its left on its a rust collecter..but it may not be cuz i did have one side off and it didnt look rusted.. but im sure in DUE time...it is red now and when i DO paint it i think im keeping it red... havent seen many red fords without the trim.. but i may go black... ive seen many black fords without the side trim and do like it .. awww who am i kidden i like it both way...so my question to you is WHICH DO YOU LIKE BETTER?? WITH THE SIDE TRIM OR WITHOUT???? Thank you guys!!!!

Keep the trim! It will make it stand out from all the custom cabs.

Which are you referring to...the wide chrome trim w/black vinyl insert or the narrow chrome trim w/o said insert? either way i personally prefer the trim, it accentuates the body lines and doesn't make the paint job look so monolithic.

Count me in FOR the trim!! I have it on my 77 F250 4x4 and love it. I also have racetrack trim but I am thinking about dumping it when I paint it. I have pulled a lot of the trim you speak of, (I call it ranger trim) don't ask me why but I like to collect it and have never seen any rust under any of it. I was pulling the fender ,door, or cab Conner trim and it was "small molding" 2.99 each bedside "large molding" 3.99 each. Maybe that is why I have about 3 or 4 trucks worth of it in my garage. Now I want to start collecting the molding from I think some where around 73-75? the lower molding that they had at the very bottom of the body. Now there may be some rust under that molding.

I also collect trim! I've got enough for almost two trucks now, with everything from the race track, to the belt line, drip rails, fender wells, tail gate, and small side view mirrors. I have almost one trucks worth of the trim you are talking about that goes along the bottom of the truck. Do you know if they reproduce it? It has been very hard for me to find the last piece that I need.

I have had trucks with and without the trim and I prefer it without. I like the clean look, and my 78 has no trim and the emblems are even removed.

Keep the trim. It sets the Dentside apart from all the rest.

LMC have the entire set or the individual pieces.

>>>> I think a Ford looks good with no trim, if the body and paint job
is absolutely perfect, and has almost a mirror effect on the panels.
My favorite color on an old Ford is the sky blue.

If I put trim on a Ford, I would absolutely go with two tone paint.

Here is my truck with and without the upper trim. Which do you think looks better?

I also think it looks better without the tool box.
Its just a matter of opinion. Do whichever you like most.

My truck is the same year and color as your's, but mine is a two wheel drive
and the tires are are little donuts compared to the big meats you got on that truck . I like the photo with the trim on it. Good lookin' truck.
