I know there are some serious bullnose nerds on here somewhere that know every single inch of a bullnose, so here is your time to shine. I need help with my truck, it's an 84' F-250 Axle code 22 which on all charts says Dana 4.10s. So I assume it's a dana 60 based on the rating of 5300 but there are so many different axles and axle codes for these trucks. Basically PO took out the 4.10s and put in 4.88s for "crawling", not a crawling truck mind you, but I'm driving this truck across the country in a month or so and I need 3.55s. Does anybody know exactly what parts I'm looking for if I want 3.55s front and rear for an 84' axle code 22 F-250. Please help me, it's getting overwhelming trying to decipher it being so new to these trucks. Links would be appreciated but are not necessary. Thanks!

I'm not much help on the technical side. I've done some gear swaps, but am no expert. I am a bit concerned about the practical aspects of your timeline. Personally, after swapping R&P gears, I'd want to accrue a few hundred miles (minimum) locally before setting off cross-country.
I take it you're moving? So you'll have the truck loaded to the gills? All that extra weight will increase the stress on the gears. I'd hate to see you stranded in Oklahoma or one of the other "from" states.
One suggestion if you can't change your plans. Concentrate on the rear axle for now, unless your cross-country plans include the use of 4WD (not likely). You can take care of the front axle once your move is complete. Remove the front driveshaft to preclude accidentally causing any damage due to the mismatched gearing.
