Hey there, I'm looking to replace the rear wheel studs on my 56 F 350 Dually. When I was doing the brakes I seem to remember not seeing the back of the studs. I guess there's a way to separate the drum from the plate that holds the studs on. Sure could use some advise
Thanks DD
As Mark has said, there are many here who can help with your question, they may just haven't taken a look at your post. In the future you may want to be more explicit in your title..."Studs" may not capture the attention of those who can help with "56 F350 Rear Wheel Stud Replacement". Personally I can't help with anything larger than an F100 but good luck with your search...I think that abe has a recent posting on an F350 that he just purchased that had had locked brakes.
I bought a 55 F600. The truck had a frozen wheel when the seller drug the truck out so we could load it on our trailer. So I am not sure what they did to be able to be able to free the wheel . So I can't help you DD.
To remove the studs take the brake drum off and you'll see the head of the stud inside the drum so all you need to do is drive them into the inside of the drum. Hopefully there is still a place to get new ones ..I have the drums I took off the M350 and I'll drive a stud out tomorrow to see for sure..
