I have anew to me 2017 F350 6.7 Platinum CCLB. The DRL lights are not working correctly. I have a bright spot in a small portion of the driver headlamp. The rest of this DRL and the passenger DRL are dim. Is this repairable or do I need new headlight assemblies?
Not an expert, but many here report problems with their LED headlights assuming they are OEM factory and in fact they were built as Halogen from factory and had a bad conversion. Others here can talk about the details better than me.
Being a Platinum the LED headlights came standard on it. Some of us have had a portion of the DRL light go out. I have not seen this issue though, and can't think of what would cause it. The lights themselves are not serviceable.
Are the factory batteries still in the truck? You may not be getting good voltage. If they are the original, you're due anyways so it wouldn't be a waste of money. Do yourself a favor and replace with Odyssey AGM or Northstar AGM.
The headlights are factory and the batteries are less than a year old and are in good working condition. I have read of a few issues with the BCM and the "headlight module", but I don't want to throw parts at it. Has anyone replaced the DRL board with an aftermarket (requires opening the headlight)? Thank you for the replies.

Unfortunately, the OEM LED headlight assemblies are not serviceable so in order to fix your issue, you’re going to have to replace the entire assembly.
Make sure you’re sitting down when you see the price on one assembly because you might faint or even punch the computer screen. 😯 😡
I’m no help for fixing/servicing the lights, but in case you need to buy new, I have a set from a ‘19 Platinum that have less than 1000 miles on them that I would sell.
2020 F250 LED RH Headlight, replaced with 2024 F250 LED-HI BEAMS, TURNING SIGNAL and RUNNING LIGHTS
Replaced due to damage, and replaced with original Ford part, it came dated 2024. and with 2 pin connectors.
The light pin connector clicked on fine,
I re-assembled everything,
turned on the lights
and now have no right turn signal, high beams or running lights
Is there a wiring harness adapter available?
I have searched all over
And would appreciate any help
co-pilot mentions a wiring harness adapter

How did you retrofit 2024 headlights onto a 2020, and why? The 2020 lights look better IMO.
The OP had an issue with factory lights. Your problem sounds related to retrofitting newer lights into and older MY truck. Might be better to start a new thread with more detail on the swap.
I did not retro fit
it is what Fairway ford sent
it came with 2 large pin connectors, not at all like the one I am trying to replace, it was cracked.
it has just the 1 standard wiring connector
Despite the thread jacking, I would speculate that you have a bright spot rather than the rest of it being darker. (At least I hope so, because otherwise this could be a lot more complicated) I would see if there’s a way to verify what’s actually happening. Maybe checking out another used truck in the area or something.
With that said, if it’s the headlight, you could crack open the assembly and take a look at the boards. There may be a fried resistor or something that isn’t limiting the power to those LED modules. It’s ironic considering the last few unrelated messages that you’ll want to take a look at retrofitting guides to open the assembly. You will be using an oven, likely, and there’s a chance they don’t make it out the other side after troubleshooting. But if you’re already looking at replacement, you don’t have much to lose. There used to be retrofitting forums back in the day, and there were a lot of guides. Otherwise there’s YouTube. I doubt they’d be directly applicable, but opening housings should be similar through the years. I would start by looking for mustang retrofit guides or videos in hopes a similar glue is used, if you decide to go down that path.

A 2024 headlight is completely different than a 2020 headlight. So, did you replace a 20-22MY headlight with a 2024MY headlight (dont think thats possible), or does the replacement just have a manufacturer date code indicating it was made in 2024?
