Projector headlight

Hey Guys....

So i'm looking to upgrade to projector headlights at some point soon.....but i can't find any that don't look like i'm trying to be a gangsta....

Does no one make a projector headlight for our trucks that looks classy?? I want something that could be taken for an oem assembly rather than a clear bolt on aftermarket headlight.

Thanks for the help in advance

I do concur with your feelings. There should be something out there that looks good, works well, decent quality,and...non-gangsta affiliated.

After doing months of research, I wold like to throw my 2 cents in.
The Recon lights posted above are a perfect example of aesthetics before quality.
For starters, the projector used is a halogen projector, which is much different than an H.I.D. projector. Recon is the first company that I have seen that doesn't try to sell you an H.I.D. upgrade kit, but a Xenon halogen kit, which will properly work in this type of projector. PnP H.I.D. kits will not be effective in this type of projector and could actually make lighting worse.

Second, an H1 bulb is sub-standard for a headlight. My $5 fog lights on my go-kart use H1's and as they do light up enough for me to see the trail, I want more out of them. A xenon upgrade would be recommended.

Last, it still looks like an aftermarket headlight. Not even close to OEM. But I have found one headlight that looks OEM and uses real H.I.D.'s with a real H.I.D. projector.

The following was taken from the companies webpage...
Here is a new Ford F150 headlight which is part of a pair done for a customer by The Retrofit Source team. Again, this is an original Ford headlight that was converted to have an HID projector instead of the stock halogen reflector it came with. real Silver carbon fiber bezel underlays were used, along with a pair of fully customized Lexus LS430 projectors.

The parts used in this retrofit were very special. the projectors started life as a pair of Lexus LS430 low beams. they were modified to have the bi-xenon high beam feature, and had water clear glass projector lenses swapped on from Acura TSX projectors. The ballasts were Densos, and the bulbs were Philips 85122+ 5000K units.

I have yet to get a price for this, but I want them.
There was a different style projector used on another set that I found, but it looked very bug-eyed and did not fit at all.

Anzo makes a real kick A** projector head light for this truck. I run them on mine and I get a lot of people complimenting them. Check out profile pic. My truck has a wonderful view of them..

Then you're looking for a projector retrofit. From what i know, there are no kits made to use real projectors (like the ones from lexus or acura) made for our trucks.

Ryan,
I agree with you that some projector headlights are pretty nasty. You might like these: 04 05 06 FORD F150 CCFL HALO PROJECTOR HEADLIGHTS BLACK:eBay Motors (item 360165093322 end time Nov-20-09 18:08:45 PST)

They are pretty simple single projector headlights. I know they have the CCFL halo around the light, but I think it would look pretty cool. I'd probably buy these myself if I didn't have the Harley-Davidson headlights already....

A retrofit would be the way to go for sure.

Now THOSE look good. Even with the halo ring.
