I'd disagree with the mechanic's assessment that it's "in good shape".
It sounds more like the plug is unable to properly seal and that cylinder is sucking excess air and is having blow-by. This causes greatly elevated combustion temps and results in burned plugs. Could also be a valve or piston got dinged during the "repair". A compression test of that cylinder would be useful to rule out this possibility.
I'd recommend removing the "helicoil" and installing either a Timesert or CalVan/Snapon or Lock'n'Stitch insert.
it's an 06 and yes it has had a helicoil put in and it was fine mechanics said it's still in good shape!
Agree with projectSHO89, need to do a compression test.
Timesert has Big-Sert Oversized inserts to fix helicoil repairs.
How many miles are on the helicoil repair?
Give them a call and see what they say.
