4R100 Slips in Second
Hello All,
1999 F-350 4x4 DRW 4R100 4.30:1 186,000 miles no mods no programming no major repairs. It has spent at least 75% of its life towing big trailers and/or hauling a big cabover camper.
Slips with more than about half throttle in second gear. When this happens, RPMs go up a lot and speed goes up a little or not at all. Back out of the throttle enough and it moves on to third and works fine. Light throttle works fine all the time too.
I'm going out to run errands and today and will see if the symptom is any different in manual second.
If I boil down what I've found looking around online it seems like I'm due for a rebuild.
What do y'all think?
