This has been a solid battery in my Grand Marquis and Lincoln Town Cars.
At only $54, I was wondering if people here think it’d be enough to supply a 6.8 V10 (2005) Excursion Eddie Bauer?
What would its limitations be, considering it does have an entire 650 CCA and 810 CA?
Quick google search shows they are made by Clarios which also manufactures the batteries for the following. The price differences are most likely attributed to the quality inspections/requirements and warranties. I'm sure the Walmart branded battery will be fine.

Don't know what google search returned that info , but its wrong.
The Walmart batteries are made by Johnson Controls ( which does make optima and a most auto part store battlers other than Napa)
Clarious makes Die Hard car batteries now ( it used to be Johnson Controls until around 2020 or so) and interestingly enough Clarious also makes Odyssey batteries and the Die Hard platinum is basically a rebadged Odyssey.
Napa batteries are made by East Penn manufacturing.

What exactly is wrong ? You basically confirmed the same information. I just did a few more searches and it returned the same information. Johnson Controls was bought by Clarios and the current manufacturer of Everstart among many other brands.
The whole Johnson controls part was left out earlier. Clarios bought Johnson controls (well a portion of it anyway, the battery making portion) but as far as I know didn't really change anything (Johnson Controls still uses its same factories , with the same employees, buying raw materials from the same suppliers, heck, they even still uses the Johnson controls name/ logo).
So a Clarios Odyssey and the Die Hard Platinum are the same battery, but the Walmart everstart is not even remotely close (even though Clarios owns the part of Johnson Controls that makes car batteries). That was the wrong part, leaving out Johnson Controls.
Like Volkswagen owns Lamborghini, but that doesn't mean a VW golf and Lamborghini Aventador are the same, or share any parts, even though both are manufactures are owned by the same parent company.

thats the stupidest comparison.. For batteries. They can be marked as ford, chevy, bmw, and honda and all be the same manufacture... There's no different between a lamb battery and a vw battery.

If you think a Clarios Odyssey and a Johnson Controls Walmart everstart are the same battery because Clarious owns both companies then you are sadly mistaken, they are very, very different (just like like a VW and Lambo are very , very different automobiles made by the same parent company).

that was a great example actually,
just like a Dana 60 axle from a ford is totally different than a Dodge Dana 60 or a New Process NP 231 transfer case from the Ford is different than s Dodge NP231.
all of the Prime parts manufactures build parts for the Car brands to each of their specifications.
Batteries are no different, they are manufactured by company A to meet brand Bs specifications. Usually to meet a price point in the market.
There is no difference between the manufacturers.. Unless you have proof, not billy says his uncle's son wife works for the battery company. It was a horrible example. A battery is a battery, there just is not no new technology that would make one different than another. To call one a ford or a lambo is just being naive.

Do you really believe that or do you just not like admitting you're wrong??
By your logic, every V8 gasoline engine must be the same because "not no new technology that would make one different than another", and a Tesla battery must therefore also be the same as that Walmart everstart.
If you think there is no new or different battery technology in recent years , then you are once again, sadly mistaken.

dude you are delusional .. Comparing a v8 to a battery comparing a lambo to a battery. Then comparing a lithium battery to an acid flooded. Yes every flooded is the same.. Is this saying a ford is a lambo or every v8 is the same or a lithium is the same as a flooded? No .. They are different but a flooded will perform the same no matter what the manufacture with the same specs.. That is what this tread is about battery, and if the proper size walmart battery will work in an excursion. The answer is no matter the manufacturer if its the proper size then it wont be better than another.
Now what else are we going to bring up to compare a battery to.. I got one diapers, they all do the same thing.

lol. And if you've ever had children, you know that the name brand ones (while more expensive) definitely do a better job than the store brand ones. So ,yeah, that's actually a decent analogy, they all do the same thing, just some do it better than others, just like the various brands of floated lead acid car batteries.
