Just a view of a disassembled 2wd ABS valve for those who are curious of how they look.

Thanks for posting.

I am one of those curious sorts. Out of that same line of thought... what inspired the tear down? Rebuild? Your own curiosity? etc.?

Mostly curiosity.

If anybody knows if they sell a rebuild kit I'm all ears.

Just at a glance, it seems to me that the rebuild kit would be primarily comprised of replacement soft parts (looks like just o-rings and maybe one plastic seal), I sort of doubt that the big spring would need replacement, but that could be another potential, but there is that little spring, too.

That's my thoughts as well. All soft parts, there's no real metal to metal sealing. As long as the bore doesn't have vertical scratches, and even at that I used greet scotch Brite and cleaned really good. The valve itself had a lot of varnish but cleaned really good in the parts cleaner.

There is also the switch, though, but that is at least an external part.

Almost forgot the 2 flow control valves and I'm assuming the center one is one as well. I'll dig in further and take more pictures

Here's those valves disassembled

There's 2 O rings in the right arrow and one big O ring on the left arrow

Center valve (the one that looks like a glow plug) broke at top, small piece is still stuck on the head, seems to be made of a soft alloy maybe aluminum? And yes it was removable, but it got stuck somehow and I broke it, oops.

Good idea Adam. I don't recall seeing this in the past on the forum.

Perhaps since you have not had time to tear down the engine in your new to you 7.3L the bug bit you and your tore this down trying to keep the urge at bay.

Oh it's not from Mierda Blanca, it's from my work truck, I bought a used one since there's no new or reman ones, in hopes of "curing" the brakes on the truck.
Failure was eminent as my old (as seen on pics) was in good working order. Used valve resulted with the same results (front locking brakes)

Everything is nuevo in the braking system including soft lines, calipers, master cylinder etc. I was planning on flipping the brake lines on the master cylinder and see if I can get more braking action from the rear, but not willing to try it out, unsure if it can cause damage or what.

You mean this one?

Hah! I thought the exact same thing. It looks just like a nitro engine's glow plug to me as well.

I don't think flipping the lines will change anything since the truck does not have a proportioning valve and the pistons in the master cylinder are the same size. Maybe add one of these for on-the-fly brake proportioning?

I have found that the ABS on these trucks is more of a liability than an asset, especially in deep snow. That is why I have pulled the fuse on mine and have a permanent ABS light on the dash.
