Usually if the Red brake lamp is on you are not supposed to be able to pull any RABS codes. Since you have a Code 4 that is an exception to the rule for sure.

I got the manual for the code and testing. Just getting frustrated making a little headway on surging idle and now Code 4 RABS. Looks like worst case 200$ for a RABS HCV in the works. All new brake lines and hoses, pads, shoes was in the works if I got it running correct so just another item to put on may need list.
Did not try the second phase of test as truck will not stay running.
Well in my efforts I did manage to get the solenoids wired and mounted and working. Now to replace the rotted out tube from diverter to exhaust as mine is not connected to the CAT but after the 2 to 1.

Did get the HCV tested today and it check good on the ohm meter. Had company pull up and it started raining so did not get to the module end and test the wiring.I am hoping with doing full brake replacement, line replacement, hose replacement,MC replacement after getting it all bled it will be ok.Waiting on UPS etc to make some deliveries with parts.
Well after a year of waiting for the brother in law to purchase some parts. I have got the brake warning light problems fixed. The truck had 2 stuck front calipers and a frozen rear wheel.I replaced front calipers, pads, hose, rear shoes, wheel cylinders, hose to rear end,and all new stainless brake lines on truck. I can now move it around as needed without burning out the clutch.
I am still fighting a surging idle sometimes. Some days it will start and idle fine other days will surge so still baffled as to what is causing the problem. Guess I will go back and retest the MAP,IAC,TPS. At the moment the EGR has been blocked off at the intake. The EGR does leak by when tested with vacuum pump so it needs to be replaced. The air tube down from air pump to converter is rotted out so that needs to be replaced. I will let him decide if he wants to repair all this stuff or not.
