El Crappo.
I live 8n Central Oregon….. but I needed, I think, to get my ride to SoCal for a friend to smooth it out. On the way back my 2004 Crew Cab Short Bed Dually had a problem running un-loaded at 2250-2290 rpm in high. It would “cough” every few seconds if you ran on cruise control…… and every time if you were pulling a grade at speed with your foot on it. Sticking turbo gate? Fuel filter? Burned injectors? At local speeds no problem. At more than 70 thud thud thud……. Opinions?

You got to buy Forscan and an OBD2 adapter to diagnose anything with these trucks.

What diagnostic tools would you recommend? I am quite good on old ford tractors and model “A”s but this is my first V8 diesel.

Sorry Jack. I didn’t see your reply. I have bought the obd adapter (Bluetooth) but I have heard that Forscan doesn’t like MACs…… is that true?

Glow plug error was checked with an OBDii scanner from HF

Even though my adapter says “ForScan” all over the package, it will not support IOS. I have ordered the recommended one from the proper website. Thanks again for the help.

Some obd adapters broadcast wifi, some Bluetooth. Apple products will only connect through wifi.
