I am still waiting to get a VIN. The longer I wait, the less I want it. In the mean time. Thats the issue I have. While waiting, in the mean time I have to do repairs on the truck in order to use it, which is one of the reasons I want to replace it. If I do the repairs on it, I won't get that time or money back. If thats the case, why sell it, right?
I'm not looking forward to removing the bed, getting it off wont be a problem, I have pallet forks for my tractor, easy peasy, its flipping the damn thing over where i will have a problem. I can't repair the bed with it sitting up right. I have to rip the front spindles off, replace all the seals and the auto 4WD hubs. If I am doing that might as well replace the ball joints whether they are needed or not since I got it that far apart. Then the new truck arrives 4 months later, did I do all this work for the next owner, or say screw it and keep my current trucks? Nothing wrong with my F150, I just can't afford it and a new Superduty.
I give it one more month, if nothing by June, I have no choice since I need the truck road ready by mid July for a trip with the 5th wheel.
I am kind of in the same boat. Need a 3/4 ton or larger by mid July, but I haven't even heard crickets regarding the truck I ordered. I've got plans to make and things to do, so I had to suck it up and find an alternative. That alternative costs about 5k more than the truck I ordered with less options. Kind of makes me want to rehash the whole trip in regards to the trailer I want to haul and just keep my 05 Tundra that only has 113k miles. It's in perfect shape and cost 1/5th of what the new one does. Definitely not the best ordering experience I've had. Some of it falls on Ford, but much of it is just circumstances. It's lame all around...
And yet all we can say is, "when is my new truck coming....does it have heated seats". Yep, 1st world problems....
We dont deserve this planet honestly. we suck as a species! I really hope they get the plastic eating microbes working to help reduce the amount of waste we have going on.
I guess I didn't realize how bad things are backed up.
I went to my dealer today to get in line and trade in my 15' GMC plow truck for either a new 2023 F-350 Lariat SCSWB, or a GMC 2500HD DC LTZ from their GM side across the street... which ever he could get first.
I'll need this truck before next winter..
Well, reality I guess...he thinks it'll take a miracle to get one before winter, and there obviously isn't anything out there available.
So, he's going to order both when the order banks re-open, and we'll see which one makes it here first.
Until then I guess I keep the 15' just in case.
I thought you were waiting for the 23? but with that said since 22 order bank is closed youll be getting a 23 regardless if you wait for ford. From the looks of the F150, as many options as they are taking away/deleting youre going to end up with a limited with XL features lol
21st century work ethic? What sort of nonsense are you talking about? Years ago, ABBA had the song "Gimme, gimme, gimme". Good work ethic? Might be more Bigfoot sightings.
Maybe automation will solve the worker problem.
It will have to, there will be 8 times as many people living the workforce as entering it this year.....
