So, I just got an email back from the owner of my dealer. I had asked him about when he thinks the order banks will open up for the 2017's as well as when they will start to hit dealer lots. Looks like we have more of a wait than I would like. Here is his reply:
"It's looking like the last 2016 Super Duty will roll off the assembly line on July 11th. I have that in writing from a meeting that I was in last week with my Ford Rep. Job #1 for the 2017 should be within four weeks after that and Ford is expecting a OK to buy / OK to ship in late August. The way that Ford has been scheduling retail orders is a little bit different... They wont schedule a retail "special" order until the OK to buy has been achieved. Ford just wants to make sure that everything is perfect before a retail customer gets it. I think that you will get your retail unit maybe in November.
Bottom line... I think that we will be ordering the 2017 somewhere around mid May to June"
So, just an update for those waiting for a 2017....
I'm sure normal time frames apply once the changeover is done Doug.
I'll order mine in Feb of 17 for an April delivery. In the salt and snow belt, it's no fun to get a new vehicle late fall right before everything goes to crap on the roads so that precludes me from ordering as soon as the banks open. Ah well, 1.5 more years of fun with Lil' Silver...

If the All new 2015 F150 rollout is any indication, I expect some additional delays. Not sure how much retooling in the factories will have to be done.

None - They'll just drop the 6.7 in the F-150 and roll them out!
Ford is adding a large facility to the Kentucky Truck Plant. There was no word about what it will be used for when the press release was made available.
The plans show additions to the plant's stamping, body shop, tailgate, frame and other operations. All that adds up to a 288,715 square-foot expansion, according to the application. Luckett & Farley Architects, Engineers and Construction Managers Inc. drew up the plans.
Same here. I'm probably looking around July 18 before I buy. 3 years of this F450 will be fun.
That is when I'm looking as well. Is it strange that we haven't even made a payment on our trucks yet, and are already planning when we will be buying the next one...
Talk about a "Rocket Ship"........I'd have to tell Ford, "shut up and take my money"!
Once you remove the stuff from the engine you don't want or need, I think it would fit!
I love my truck and it's only 2 years old this month, but I like new stuff. By the 2018 model year, I will be about due (just knowing me the way I do).

I'm the same way, but I do LOVE my current truck. Be hard to let it go.......But, I'm alot like you with the "New stuff". Speaking of which, the wife's new vehicle has got all kinds of gizmos, I really like the "Sport Exhaust" button, opens a flapper and it will really sing! If you also have the Sport+ activated, you get a good "blaaap" on gear changes (Vicki's in the passenger seat saying something about growing up!)

I just installed a flapper valve on this one, and hope to install a flapper on my 2018 as well. Hopefully they start making kits in 2017. Gotta love the sound of the exhaust. Not sure about that high pitched squeal coming from the passenger side when you stand on the throttle though. (I don't have that issue most of the time as I am happily single!)

You just have to be abrupt enough to render them speechless, but when they catch their breath......look out!
