I'm working on this today. It sure looks like a wiring or connector problem.
I'm testing continuity between the disconnected TPS connector and the disconnected PCM connector. They all go to a pin except pin 2 which is the reference.
I can't see anything that look like pin numbers on the PCM connector so I try them all.
Holding the open end of the TPS connector towards me with the locator tab thing down, I'm calling that left to right 1 2 3 4.
Holding the PCM connector as in the photo I'm calling the columns 12345 left to right. Pin 1 of each column at the top.
TPS 1 goes to column 1 pin 9
TPS 2 goes nowhere.
TPS 3 goes to column 2 pin 8.
TPS 4 goes to column 1 pin 10
Those PCM numbers don't match that diagram so maybe this model is slightly different. I don't know where pin 39 is or if it's relevant.
Wiring doesn't seem damaged. I guess I need to look into the back of the connectors. It would sure help to know where pin 2 is supposed to go to.
Well according to wiring diagram pin 2 is supposed to go to pin 9, which in this case, is being used by another pin.. You said that it was driving so i would think the wiring diagram may be off alittle. What we do know is all the pin locations have been what has been in the diagram but with different matching pins. So the only one we have left for pin 2 of tps is pin 39 of pcm. You can see if this pin 39 matches the color of pin two and if you are not getting continuity then i would splice in a wire to see what happens. This is the pin number layout for the pcm (ignore the yellow highlight)..
I should have found this earlier but it's in a kind of hard to see place and the covering was more closed than you see here, I found it first by feel with my arm deep in the engine.
Thanks for the responses. The diagrams and info were very helpful. I haven't quite figured out how to get eyes, hands and tools close enough to fix it yet,
