Hey all,
I have a 89 F350, IDI with a leaking (metal) supply line that attaches to the top of an injector. I just recently bought the truck and have been going through it. When i bought it, it was leaking fuel out of a couple of the plastic caps on the injectors. I replaced all the o rings/ plastic caps on the drivers side of the motor and it seemed to fix the leak for a few days. Drove it probably 300 miles in the past couple days and on the way home it started squirting fuel out of the metal line b/w the line and the screw nut. Pulled the line back off. Replaced with another cap and o ring. Tightened back down. Still leaking... pulled the line back off again completely to inspect, cleaned it up a bit. Didnt notice any damage or cracking. Reinstalled, new o rings. Still leaks. Is there something im missing here?
[ps. I know those are cheap line clamps, i plan on replacing when i get a chance, but theyre working good for now]
Not being an ***..but are you sure it is not cross threaded?..i always put vaseline on my o rings in caps because dry ones can move when you put them.on..the metal line is a compression fitting so it will either seal or not..just make sure the mating parts are smooth and knick free..gotta love them return caps🤣🤣🤣

I will try one more time with some vaseline, but after posting and doing more digging, i think the metal line might be the issue. The clamps are missing and they seem like they have been bent from the previous owner. I orderes a new set of supply lines and clamps and they should be here mid week. Hopefully that fixes it
Those red clamps look fine to me. My kits came with green clamps and the same type - don't know if the color matters.
The metal line itself could be cracked and leaking close to the injector directly under the nut.
Especially important are the strap-clamps that secure your metal lines. Without those clamps the lines will vibrate and may break.
If you're leaking between the hard line and the nut, it's not seating correctly to the injector. This will be caused by the hard line being bent at the wrong angle, cross threading or the flare on the end being cracked.
Sounds like you'll be well set with new hard lines and the proper vibration strap clamps installed. Just make sure to thread the new lines on by hand to make sure they don't cross thread.
